I can't open the hinge on my keyboard dock to dock my XPS™ 10 tablet

The XPS 10 keyboard dock is shipped with the hinge in the closed position. Due to the spring action of the hinge to hold the system closed when in the docked mode, it is very difficult to open undocked.
